From the East
Via the coast (Minehead)
From Taunton follow the directions for Minehead and then continue on via Porlock, up Porlock Hill across the hills (wonderful views of the Bristol Channel across to Wales). Travel onwards on the A39 down Countisbury Hill into Lynmouth. Follow the road up a very steep hill to a sharp right turn which will take you into Lynton. We are above the car park opposite Lynton Primary School and next to the Museum.
Inland
Leave Taunton along the M5 motorway towards Exeter. Exit at junction 27. Take the A361 (Signposted Barnstaple) to South Molton and then join the B3227 sign posted Simon’s Bath. Then at Blackmoor Gate, take the A399, which becomes the A39, following signs to Lynton. The road forks right, allowing you to enter the town via castle hill into the car park on the left. St. Vincent House is in Market Street, next to the museum and opposite the Primary School.
Directions by train and coach
Take the train to Taunton or Barnstaple. Times can be found from the National train website or Train Line. Buses run from both Taunton and Barnstaple. Barnstaple is probably easier and it may be possible for us to arrange a taxi if there is no suitable bus. Please mention this when you phone to book).
